Ampleharvest.org
Ampleharvest.org is an organization that connects gardeners with food pantries. According to its website it is:
a nationwide effort to educate, encourage and enable gardeners with extra extra produce to easily donate to a local food pantry. AmpleHarvest.org gives food pantries the opportunity to be listed in a central nationwide directory so that gardeners can share their fresh produce and, garden-by-garden, help diminish hunger in America.
Totally awesome. Take a look and “share your garden bounty with neighbors in need.”

If you or a friend of yours knows of a food pantry somewhere (possibly a house of worship or a social agency such as the YMCA or United Way), please reach out to them and encourage them to register at AmpleHarvest.org (visit http://www.ampleharvest.org/help-register.php) for more information. While we recognize that has you doing a bit of “homework” to find one, it also means that the others gardeners in your community will quickly find it, making you an important catalyst to help diminish hunger in your community.
Additionally, you can help other gardeners in your area lean about the AmpleHarvest.org Campaign by asking garden stores and nurseries in your community to post the flier at http://www.ampleharvest.org/InformingTheGardener.php in their shop.
