Woot!

What’s better than awesome electronics?  Cheap awesome electronics – with witty descriptions.  Woot.com posts one new item, along with a witty description, each day at midnight Central Standard Time.  Priced to sell, the item is sold until there aren’t any more.  You never know how many units are available.  If you don’t get one, or don’t want one, you can to wait until the next day at midnight to see what the next product is.

But wait, that’s not all.

About once a month, there’s something called a “woot-off.”  It’s a 1-3 day period of time during which products are sold in usually-rapid succession, one after another.  A status bar gives a hint as to how many of an item are left.

And even better…

Every so often, something called a “Bag of Crap” is posted.  If you see one of these, you have approximately .2 seconds to click the “I want one!” button.  Hundreds of thousands of fans wait for these.  For $3.00 the Woot people will put three random items in a bag and send them to you.  They could be dvd players, telephones, cords, bandanas, candles, used coffee makers, or brand new flat screen tvs.  You just never know.  It’s a grab bag for grown-ups.  Well, almost grown-ups.  And it’s awesome.
